David |
|
Although David regularly attended the gym, and seemed to know his way around the weights, I approached him and enquired with regard to his purpose and goal he had set himself. He was a regular golfer and although that was a goal, another was to improve his general fitness as he had just started to take his eldest Grandson skiing.
I explained the difference and benefits of sport specific training. David was soon training for his next skiing holiday with his Grandson, in an attempt to keep up with his grandson, a very active and sporting boy. The training paid off as it was Davids’ grandson who was regularly saying “Grandad wait for me” |

Heidi |

Having once been one of Finlands Champion Cross country Skiers, Heidi had been through training regimes of the highest caliber. A definite keep fit fanatic!
Heidi had taken up the regular pursuit of running, the competitive spirit still alive in her veins, she eventually started competing in Marathons.
After several Marathons her best time of 4hrs 21min at Londons premier event. Her aim was to shave 5 maybe 10 minutes off her time.
With 4 months until Londons next Marathon, Heidi was pleasantly surprised when she came in 3hrs 51minutes a full half hour off of her previous best!
On her return to visit her mother for her holiday she found she was skiing faster, for longer as well as dropping a dress size from Size 8 to Size 6.
Some would call it SIZE ZERO! |

Marit |

Working and living away from her Native Finland, in London Mairt nonetheless was still subjected to regular teasing by her competitive skiing father that ‘Daddy’s little girl’ could not beat him in a downhill race.
Marit commenced a training programme with the aim of getting fit, looking and feeling great, although her deep motivating force was the long standing ambition to beat Dad.
Four weeks into training and feeling fitter, an unexpected trip home came up - the competition was on!! Dad commented on how fit Marit was looking but could she beat him? It was close and hard fought race but Dad once again was the first down. They scheduled a return match onher next visit... 6-weeks on, Dad pushed hard but was comprehensively beaten. Marit is still her DADDY’S GIRL but teasing has miraculously ceased!. |

Richard |

Not exactly a shy guy Richard would puff up his chest and tell you exactly how good he was at each activity he attempted, he thrived on competition even when he was the only competitor.
With the ski season fast approaching Richards’ sport orientated programme began. Losing weight and being fitter enabled Richard to ski faster for much longer periods of time. Increased muscle mass has enabled Richard to puff out his chest even more! |
