"Personal training has made a difference to me.
I am in my 40's and have always been reasonably fit and have maintained a weight of 58Kg. I am definitely fitter than I have ever been. My speed in cycling and running improved quite quickly after I focussed on specific exercises. A few weeks ago I went to the Lake District. I remembered 3 years earlier struggling up Hellvelyn, but now I was able to power up to the top overtaking everyone in sight.
My body shape has changed for the better. My muscles are more defined on the arms, butt and stomach. It is a real ego boost when other women, who are complete strangers, say I look great and want tips on what exercises to do.
A really benefit is that I never have to diet. However much I eat my weight stays the same and my stomach is always flat.
I would recommend personal training as it focus your exercise regime to achieve the results you want whether that is to be thinner, stronger or fitter."
"Before I started with Freddie, I had been exercising at a boxing gym and was under the illusion that I was reasonably fit and that my body for a 40+ year old was ok. Then came my first session... Freddie approached with a beaming smile, plenty of enthusiasm and charm.
This is going to be ok I thought but then... the before photo (and the callipers) revealed body fat that I had hidden well under clothes, particularly around the butt and stomach. The first treadmill run (I hate running) sounding like a mini elephant with a wheeze, ended with the realisation that perhaps I was not so fit after all.
The lunges, squats and weights also highlighted that the techniques I was using (again I thought these were all good) were not allowing me to work to my full potential and I was kidding myself that I had been working hard. Freddie knows the true meaning of working hard and the results from this are incredible, that coupled with his wonderfully warm and humerous personality and ability to motivate makes Freddie a personal trainer like no other.
Having been a scientific researcher I am somewhat obsessed with evidence, particularly when I am paying! The scales, the tape measure, the after photos, the need for new clothes, the ‘wow’ comments from everybody even my very honest and critical daughter was evidence in abundance. In addition I look at other people that are training in the gym and see that the results that they are getting are not as effective – Freddie is definitely doing something unique. Back at the boxing gym, my fitness is now comparable to the senior fighters (and my abs are better than theirs!).
As well as this there have been other changes that have impacted my life – an increase in confidence about the way I look. For the first time I can actually look in the mirror with some pride, I no longer have to use the formerly necessary expression “Does my bum look big in this” And importantly I feel like I am now a true part of the boxing gym. Im fit and sporty. For someone that was always last to be picked for the teams at school this is a priceless achievement. Words can not describe the gratitude I feel to Freddie. He has a genuine and determined caring to achieve the best possible results for his clients – “That’s my job” he will say but I know, as do all his clients (I speak to many) that it is infinitely more than this."
"At the beginning of this year my personal trainer moved to a different gym and I was seriously considering training on my own. I had come to the conclusion that all personal trainers were alike. I had trained regularly for years with different personal trainers, sweated profusely and felt exhausted after many training sessions, but had never lost weight or significantly improved my strength or fitness.

"As an athlete into my late twenties I found the increasing weight gain after having four children in 13 months extremely hard to cope with. "The bad news is there is no easy way and if there was, believe me I would have found it by now. There is no magic pill or amazing new diet, but there is … Freddie!!! It isn’t easy but Freddie works.
Perhaps at first glance you don’t get ‘miracle worker’ or ‘the answer’ but instead a smile and a confidence that gives you belief. That is the nice part, from there on in it is down to business.
Which is fine, but for me personally, I need results. The less effort the better, but don’t make me kill myself only to look the same as I did before. I would sweat a little for a six pack, a chest that didn’t look like it was scared of my head or to have the ability to see my knees again…but if I sweat, I want to see a difference. And with Freddie you do!
So bullshit aside, you know the stuff … personal trainer for 600 years, 4 degree’s in ‘exercise’ and ‘martial arts’, fought bare fisted with the SAS in Afghanistan, etc … Freddie will change your body shape and give it definition. He will tone and strengthen. Your body will live again and despite the pain and suffering, there are few people who can make it so much fun.

"I started using Freddie as a Personal Trainer to lose weight and to get in shape for the upcoming ski season. Skiing is a real passion of mine however I always leave the preparation until the last minute. I signed up with Freddie after a brief chat with him at Gym Box.
He has a great personality and I felt he would motivate me to make the extra effort required to get in shape! Freddie gave me a great workout routine which mixed strength training with endurance training and kept me interested and motivated. "I can honestly say that Freddie is the best personal trainer in achieving results that I have ever had.
Having had several personal trainers over the years, and tried many different gyms, with 3 months to go before my wedding I started training with Freddie.
His approach fitted in with my hectic work and personal lifestyle - if I strayed off the track (usually with my eating habits) whilst he could tell, he would only encourage me to refocus which worked very well.
He achieved incredible results astonishingly quickly and reshaped my figure and increased my fitness dramatically – and it was fun too! I found his positive, energetic motivational style and constant tracking of how my figure was shaping up to be highly effective and motivational.

"Freddie, was the reason I joined gym box in the first place.
I was training at fitness first with an instructor, when a friend told me how amazing her instructor was. At that time I wasn’t too happy with mine, so I thought I would test him out. But, he would have to be amazing for me to swap gyms and fortunately he was, so I decided to swap gyms and start training with him.
It was Freddie’s dedication and sense of humour that got me. I have never in my life come across anyone so dedicated and passionate about their job like Freddie is to his. He worked on my posture as well as parts of my body that I wasn’t happy with, and I even adopted a nickname…PRINCESS (which still to this day I don’t know why..hahahaha)….and wooolaahhh in no time I was transformed.

"I have been using the gym for sometime now and I felt that I got to a point where I was not really benefiting from the amount of time I was spending training. I was intent on trying to improve my fitness levels and reduce my waistline so after having a chat with Freddie I decided to have some one to one sessions.
Once Freddie knew what I wanted to achieve he put together a training schedule and within a matter of weeks I noticed a change; my fitness levels increased, my waistline got smaller and my posture improved.
Freddie also put together a programme of exercises aimed at improving my golf. We have done a lot of core exercises targeting flexibility, strength and power. This has made a real difference to both the accuracy and distance and ball is traveling, and has seen a gradual reduction in the scores I am shooting. My driving range on average was between 250-270 yards, this has now increased to 270-300+ yards and I was shooting 90 – 95 per round which has now dropped to 85 – 90.
I would recommend to anyone to train with Freddie as he will listen to what you want to achieve and set you on the right path, he also takes a genuine interest in the goals of his clients."
“I’ve been training with Freddie once a week since October 2007 and have found the investment of time and money one of the best decisions I have made in recent years. Having a professional trainer has enabled me to improve my shape, posture and running ability far more than I ever achieved from exercise without a trainer.
Freddie has ensured I get far more out of my gym visits and made me more disciplined in my approach to gym based exercise. After meeting Freddy at Gymbox I started to train with him once a week, I’m not going to lie it wasn’t easy, but Freddy took things step by step and gradually my strength increased and so did my stamina. I quickly noticed a change in my physical appearance, right down to my posture. At the start of each session I would notice Freddy examining my physical appearance, he would often have a thoughtful look on his face and then he would say, “Come on lets begin”. I would jokingly say, “I thought you were a trainer not an artiste” because from week to week he would act as if he was moulding his own piece of art work. It was actually as if he was sculpting me, taking into account each intricate piece of detail.
What I really like about Freddy’s sessions is the personal touch he gives, most trainers that I have worked with in the past have all used the same standard method of exercise for all clients regardless of their needs but Freddy’s sessions are tailored made to your own individual requirements.
Whilst training with Freddy we often have a laugh and a joke but don’t be fooled by his forty minute training session, its real hard work but the results are absolutely amazing. There are many stories that I could tell you about our training sessions, like the on going joke we have regarding the basketball top I wear whilst training, it use to say SIXERS but now it only says IXER due to my recent weight loss. There is also the time when I called Freddy up on the weekend screaming down the phone, “I got into my size 32’s, I got into my size 32’s or more recently the fact that I got into a size 14 shirt after finally shifting more of my baby fat.
To be honest the list is endless and I just keep moving the goal posts in regards to the goals I want to achieve. Freddy is truly an amazing trainer and the results are even better.
